In a hurry? Here’s the best alternative to Soap2Day in 2026:

  • YouTube: I consider this to be the best alternative to Soap2Day since it’s free to use, and it provides access to tons of great content. What’s more, in certain countries, it provides access to movies and TV series for free too. I also recommend using a VPN (like ExpressVPN (63% off with this link) with YouTube to keep your streaming traffic safe.

Soap2Day is convenient, but I get why people want alternatives. Using sites like Soap2Day isn’t exactly legal, and might get you in trouble in certain countries. Plus, these kinds of sites are also pretty dangerous to use.

Naturally, just using other sites that are just like Soap2Day isn’t the solution. You deal with the same legal and security risks if you do that. Plus, even if you don’t care about this, you’ll eventually lose access to these kinds of sites once they’re shut down by the authorities.

The good news is there are some decent Soap2Day alternatives on the web. I listed the best ones in this article — most of them are free to use and let you stream high-quality content. And all of them are 100% legal and safe to use.

9 Best Alternatives to Soap2Day in 2026

I added many free streaming sites to this list, but I made sure to only include platforms that are legitimate. This basically means they broadcast movies and TV shows without breaking any copyright rules. This also means most free sites I mention use ads to sustain their business model. I also made an exception and added one paid online streaming platform, as it’s pretty much the most popular one out there.

1. YouTube

Screenshot of YouTube's home page, showing the Movies & TV tab.

I personally think YouTube is the best alternative to Soap2Day. While it’s not exactly a free streaming site, it does allow users in certain countries (like the US and the UK) — and, in return, the users only have to put up with some ads. In addition, in most countries, you can also purchase movies on YouTube. And best of all, you don’t need an account to use the site (though, it is definitely convenient having one).

Furthermore, some distributors post popular movies and TV series on their YouTube channels. And they do it legally, as they own the copyright to those titles. Also, many independent filmmakers also provide free access to their content on YouTube.

Finally, some YouTube channels even provide a similar level of entertainment as movies and TV shows. You don’t exactly watch free movies and TV shows on those channels, but you still get access to comedy sketches and long-form video content, such as documentaries and commentaries.

Free or Paid: Free (also has a paid version, and lets you rent or buy titles)

2. Tubi

Screenshot of Tubi's site, showing the Movies page.

Tubi is 100% free to use. It’s one of the best Soap2Day alternatives in terms of variety, as it provides access to 50,000+ titles. You get access to live TV, and tons of movies and TV shows spanning many genres, such as Anime, Action, Martial Arts, Black Cinema, and Romance. On top of that, you get free access to content in Spanish in the US, and Tubi Kids in the US and Canada (lets you stream movies and TV series for kids).

Tubi displays ads, and its ad breaks last anywhere between 1 and 2 minutes. I used this site for a few hours, and I can confirm that the ad breaks happen roughly every 15 minutes. It’s a bit inconvenient, but on the plus side you don’t need an account to use this free streaming site. Still, I should note that Tubi is only available in the US, Canada, and Australia.

Free or Paid: Free

3. Pluto TV

Screenshot of Pluto TV's site, showing its On Demand page.

Pluto TV is among the most popular free streaming websites in the US. This site is great for watching live TV channels, as you get access to a very user-friendly interface with an intuitive TV schedule. On top of that, Pluto TV also provides on-demand content spanning tons of popular genres, such as Game Shows, Reality, Anime, Comedy, Sports, Music Videos, Drama, and Sci-Fi.

Pluto TV displays ads at the start of videos and during them. But the good news is you don’t need to create an account to use this platform to watch movies and TV shows. Just remember what I mentioned above — the site is only available in the US.

Free or Paid: Free

4. Crackle

Screenshot of Crackle's site, showing the Movies page.

Crackle is 100% free and has a vast library of on-demand content. It allows you to stream excellent movies from tons of different genres, including Crime, Aventure, Anime, Biography, Action, Adventure, Thriller, Sports, and Stand-Up. As for TV shows, Crackle offers titles spanning genres such as Comedy, Classics, Crackle Originals, Drama, Western, and War/Military. The only thing that’s missing is access to live TV channels — if that’s an issue check out Tubi or Pluto TV instead.

Since the site is free, it’s ad-supported. The ads only last around 30 seconds, though, which is pretty convenient. Also, you don’t need to create an account to use the site. But keep in mind it’s only available in the US.

Free or Paid: Free

5. CBC Gem

Screenshot of CBC Gem's site, showing the Shows page.

CBC Gem is completely free to use, and it lets you watch movies and TV series from tons of popular genres — for example, you get Lifestyle, Arts, Mystery & Crime, and Music for TV series, and Documentary, Comedy, Indigenous, Horror, and Sci-Fi & Fantasy for movies. What’s more, CBC Gem also provides access to live TV content, and it’s great for streaming movies and TV series for kids too.

The site’s free version is ad-supported, but you can get rid of all ads by upgrading to a paid plan. The site is only available in Canada, and you’ll need to create an account to use it (yes, even if you want to use it only for free streaming).

Free or Paid: Free (also has paid plans)

6. SBS On Demand

Screenshot of SBS On Demand's website, showing the Movies page.

SBS On Demand is among the best Soap2Day alternatives in Australia, as it claims to provide access to 15,000+ hours of video content. The site has a vast library of movies spanning tons of popular genres, including Drama, Comedy, Biopics, Fantasy, Horror, Thriller, and Westerns. You also get access to TV shows from genres such as Food, Best of NITV, News & Current Affairs, and Sport.

SBS On Demand is completely free, so it’s ad-supported. Also, you’ll need an SBS account to use this free streaming platform — that, and you need to be located in Australia, since it’s only available there.

Free or Paid: Free

7. Rakuten TV

Screenshot of Rakuten TV's site, showing the free movie and TV show streaming page.

Rakuten TV provides free streaming, but it also allows you to rent movies or TV series. It allows you to watch movies and TV shows from popular genres, such as Horror, Thriller, Family Movies, Kids TV, Comedies, and Drama. In addition, it also provides access to live channels alongside a really simple-to-follow TV guide.

The site uses ads, but doesn’t require you to have an account to use it. Rakuten TV is particularly a good pick for users in Europe, as the site works in 40+ European countries. There’s also a Japanese version of Rakuten TV, but it’s much more different than its European counterpart.

Free or Paid: Free (also lets you rent or buy titles)

8. BBC iPlayer

Screenshot of BBC iPlayer's home page.

BBC iPlayer is great for watching British content, but keep in mind it only works in the UK. Also, the site provides access to 10+ live channels, including BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, BBC Four, and CBBC. And each channel comes with a TV guide with a user-friendly interface. What’s more, BBC iPlayer streams TV series and movies from popular genres, like Cops on the Box, Entertainment, Comedy, and Drama.

The site is 100% free to use, and it doesn’t display any ads. But you’ll need to create an account to use it, and will also need to have a TV license.

Free or Paid: Free (but it requires you to have a TV license)

9. Netflix

Screenshot of Netflix's main account dashboard page.

Netflix is among the best Soap2Day alternatives when it comes to variety. The site is available worldwide, and pretty much each country’s library provides access to a massive library containing thousands of popular titles. In addition, the site also has Netflix Originals, which are high-quality movies and TV series developed by the site — so they’re normally available everywhere Netflix is, as the site owns the copyright.

While Netflix isn’t free, I’m still adding it to the list because it provides excellent value. It lets you stream high-quality movies and TV shows, it has a very user-friendly interface, and its pricing is affordable. Plus, I like how Netflix only bills you month-to-month, so it doesn’t force you into long-term commitments, like other streaming services do.

Free or Paid: Paid

Is Soap2Day Legal?

No, it’s actually illegal in most countries. That’s because the site illegally streams movies and TV shows online. That basically means the website broadcasts content without paying for them, which goes against copyright rules in most countries. The original site was actually shut down in 2023, and all the Soap2Day sites you find online are just copies of it.

And if you use Soap2Day, you might get in legal trouble — though this really depends on the copyright laws of your country. In certain countries, only the website owners are punished. But there are also countries with very harsh copyright laws that also punish website visitors.

That’s why you should only use legal alternatives for this site. I listed the best Soap2Day alternatives above, and they’re all 100% legal to use — they only broadcast movies and TV series in regions where they’re legally allowed to. And most of the free streaming sites I mentioned are legit, as they rely on ads to financially back up their service.

Is Soap2Day Safe to Use?

I don’t personally think these sites are safe. My main issue with them is that it’s very easy to come across malicious ads on these types of websites. And if you accidentally interact with them (even if you click the red x to close them), your device might get infected with malware.

To be safe, just use legit streaming sites, like the ones mentioned above. Many of them use ads, but they’re safe as they undergo a screening process to be used on the site (which is also secure). Plus, these sites mostly use video ads — you won’t be taken by surprise by pop-up ads.

Should You Use a VPN When Accessing Alternatives to Soap2Day?

I generally recommend using a VPN while streaming, even though you don’t necessarily need one all the time. Here’s why I think this is a good idea:

  • With a VPN, your streaming data is safe. A VPN will encrypt your internet data, which means your web traffic becomes 100% unreadable. What’s more, a VPN will also hide your IP address, which means any site you access won’t know what your real location is — this is good for protecting your privacy while streaming.
  • A VPN lets you access streaming platforms abroad. If you travel to other countries, you might lose access to streaming services or content that are only available in your country. But a VPN will let you make it seem as if you’re accessing the site from your home country, which will provide access to the service and content you want.
  • VPNs also prevent bandwidth throttling. Since VPNs mask your web traffic, internet service providers (ISPs) can’t monitor it anymore. And if your ISP can’t see what you’re doing online, they can’t selectively throttle your streaming speeds.

If you need a recommendation, try ExpressVPN. It’s my favorite VPN for streaming since it works with 100+ streaming sites, including all of the ones mentioned in this article. Plus, it also has the fastest streaming speeds on the market, it comes with servers in 100+ countries, it’s super easy to use, and it has industry-leading security and privacy features.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’d say YouTube is the best option. It provides free access to movies and TV series in certain countries — you just have to watch a few ads in return. Also, some producers even make their own TV shows and movies available for free on thesite. And there are even YouTube channels the stream content that provide a similar level of entertainment to movies and TV series. Plus, YouTube also has a user-friendly interface (Soap2Day’s interface looks outdated).

The site is illegal in most countries, as it goes against copyright regulations since it broadcasts content without permission. Depending on how harsh the copyright laws are in your country, you might also face legal repercussions for using a site like Soap2Day. It’s better to just use a legal streaming site instead, like the ones I covered here.

I usually recommend doing this, as it’s the best way to secure your streaming traffic to ensure nobody spies on it. In addition, a VPN will also allow you to access your favorite streaming platforms and content when you travel abroad, and it will also stop your internet service provider from selectively slowing down your streaming speeds.

Not really, as the site might contain malicious ads and links. Interacting with them could infect your device with malware, which would compromise your data. It’s much safer to use a legitimate streaming site instead, like the ones mentioned in this article
